Congratulations to The Young Fishermen Network, and a huge thank you to everyone who voted for UK WIF
A massive well done to the Young Fishermen’s Network for their well-deserved win at the Fishing News Awards 2025. Their work to connect, support and inspire the next generation in our industry is vital — and we’re proud to have stood alongside such an impactful initiative in this category.
We might not have taken home the trophy, but being named a finalist for the Initiative of the Year at this year’s Fishing News Awards is something we’re incredibly proud of.
To even be considered for this award is a celebration in itself. It reflects the growing recognition of the vital role women play across the fishing sector — from onshore to offshore, and everywhere in between.
We are so excited to continue working with all of our supporters across the sector who consistently champion our work, initiate forward thinking conversations, and advocate for minority groups. Your support helps to keep this industry moving forward, and it does not go unnoticed.
To all our members, collaborators, and cheerleaders — thank you for believing in what we’re building. We’ll keep growing, advocating, and celebrating one another at every stage.
